*PUBLIC NOTICE: PROPOSED ELECTRICITY TARIFF ADJUSTMENTS FOR 2026/2027*
Notice is hereby given that the municipality intends to implement proposed electricity tariff adjustments for the 2026/2027 financial year, in line with guidelines issued by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
The proposed adjustments are as follows:
• The approved electricity increase by NERSA is 8.76%.
• The breakeven point for prepaid electricity (30 Amp) versus conventional tariffs has been increased from 291 units to 330 units. As a result, the proposed tariff increase for this category will be less than 8.76%.
• The breakeven point for prepaid electricity (60 Amp) versus conventional tariffs has been increased from 605 units to 700 units. As a result, the proposed tariff increase for this category will also be less than 8.76%.
Members of the public are hereby invited to submit written comments, inputs, or objections regarding the proposed tariff
adjustments.
Closing date for submissions: 27 March 2026
