Public Notice: Water Interruptions between 28 and 31 October 2025

The Dawid Kruiper Municipality is currently repairing leaks at the Abraham Holbors September water purification works, raw water abstraction pipeline, which serves the greater Upington and surrounding settlements with water. Funding has been allocated for the 2025-2026 fiscal year to ensure the repairs can be addressed.

The pipe repair and support work will be carried out between 28-31 October 2025. The raw water pipeline and purification works will therefore be periodically turned off daily during this week. Water outages will unfortunately be experienced in the greater Upington area and surrounding settlements. The refilling of the network and reservoirs will therefore also take time once the works are completed.

We do take note of the inconvenience caused by carrying out this maintenance during the peak season, but it remains of critical importance that the works are completed. This project forms part of the overhead Bulk Water Security, Water Conservation and Demand Management Program of DKM. A program to reduce water loss, non-income water for the long term sustainability of the Municipality and Communities.

Please suspend all garden irrigation for the period 28-31 October to ensure that the available water reserves are effectively utilized for human use.
